The Looking Glass - A New Beginning

The Looking Glass is an archive of stories and ideas that unraveled over months of discussion, debate and an earnest desire to provide a space for explorations into gender and feminism in culture and politics at a microcosmic level. Aside from the more traditional genre of deep dives through long-form writing, it is our hope that this blog evolves to house an assortment of experimentation with different forms of media, and the subsequent pages give you something interesting and insightful to engage with.
With an active membership of over 30 people, The Feminist Collective aims to be a looking-glass for administrative institutions in and around campus, and scrutinize issues of gendered representation in student governance and academia, menstrual health, and queer and workers’ rights. Through regular discussions and events, we would like to build a community of people who want to sustain political discourse and negotiate questions around their lived experiences. Above all, we wish to create a space for people who have a fraught relationship with inhabiting public spaces— one where conversations are free and solidarities endure.
